Below is our list of frequently asked questions. If you cannot find what you are looking for or are too lazy to read, contact us and we would be happy to help you out.
How much does it cost?
We have two pricing plans. One is free and one is unlimited. The unlimited plan allows you to create as many preliminary notices as you need per month and costs $15 per month. The free plan allows you to create 2 per month and are limited to one frequent contractor, customer, lender, and owner.
What are your signup frees
No signup fees or hidden costs.
What if I want to cancel?
Go into your account, and click cancel. It's that simple. If you do decide to cancel, contact us so maybe we can solve whatever problem you might be having
Are there any contracts?
No contracts of any kind. Use SimpleLien.com as long as you want, and leave whenever you want.
What states is this available for?
Simplelien.com generates California Private Works Preliminary Notices, we will be adding other states soon.
Is this for private or public works?
Our current form is for private works, we will be adding public work forms soon.
So do I make the preliens?
You fill out some fields on our site, and a PDF is generated. Just print the pdf on letter size paper., sign it, and mail it certified or registered mail.
What if I need legal advice?
For legal advice, particularly related to construction law, we strongly recommend the Porter Law Group. Bill Porter has been specializing in construction law and labor and employment law for the last 20 years and is a member of the American Subcontractors Association Board of Directors.
What are the minimum requirements?
All you need is an (1) internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, (2) letter size paper, and a (3) printer.
What states will you be adding in the future?
Nevada, Flordia, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona are on the short list. Contact us if you are interested in having your state's forms added to the site
Do you mail the preliens?
No, we do not print or mail your preliminary notices. SimpleLien.com just makes creating preliens easier and quicker, you still must mail your prelien certified or registered mail or hand deliver it.
What about referring people?
We love referrals and we love to reward people that refer people to SimpleLien.com. If you refer someone, just ask them to put your e-mail address in the referral field when they signup. This must be the same e-mail address that you used to create your account. If you have an unlimited account, referral credits will be placed into your account each time you refer someone. For each credit you accumulate, you will receive a free month. So if you refer 12 people in a year, you don't have to ever pay for SimpleLien.com. If you have a free account and refer someone, you will receive an unlimited account for 30 days. Your temporary unlimited account will not accumulate more days of service based on how many times you refer someone. If you find your self referring a lot of people, you may want to consider upgrading to an unlimited account.
